Stories Through the Sound of Music

Join me at the Gladstone Hotel on March 3rd for stories about the sound of music. Music has opened doors and crossed barriers from the time I was a little girl and on through my adult life. My musical stories are poignant and fun. They are an important part of my human experience.

Press Release

Valentina Gal’s story, Seven Silver Dollars, is included in the just-released book, Christmas with Hot Apple Cider. Valentina is one of 55 writers from across Canada who survived a rigorous competition to be included in this Canadian anthology, fifth in a series of books designed to entertain, encourage and inspire.

Sometimes, the best gift is a great story.

Christmas with Hot Apple Cider: Stories from the Season of Giving and Receiving is an eclectic collection of true stories, short fiction, and poetry. This anthology provides a diverse and multidimensional look at the traditions, teachings, and values surrounding the birth of Jesus. Be inspired to share your own stories with the world as you discover a fresh appreciation of the holiday season.

Seven Silver Dollars is about a blind girl named Larysa who is taken to her parents’ factory Christmas party. She is reluctant to go because she knows it will be difficult for her as she feels unaccepted. In this story, Larysa finds a way to negotiate her position and to move toward acceptance by her community and approval from her father.

“Grab yourself an oversized cup of hot apple cider; find a comfy chair; wrap yourself up with a Christmas afghan; and enjoy this wonderful assortment of short stories, memories, and poems!” – from the foreword by New Brunswick author Linda Hall

Christmas with Hot Apple Cider: Stories from the Season of Giving and Receiving is sold in both print and digital format. To see all the books in this series, go to Hot Apple Cider Books.
